Responsibilities Maintain detailed knowledge of federal, state, local, and international hazardous material/dangerous goods transportation regulations for all modes of transport (UN, PHMSA, DOT, TC, IMDG, IATA, ADR).
Interpret regulatory changes and communicate compliance strategies to manufacturing facilities and business groups.
Act as backup contact for transportation regulatory agencies and respond to information requests and notices of violations.
Understand product characteristics and risks to provide day‑to‑day regulatory guidance for hazardous material shipments.
Review and provide input on the transportation section of product safety data sheets.
Instruct manufacturing facilities on transportation safety and compliance practices to promote incident‑free operations.
