Not-for-profit agency that has over 100 programs across Long Island and NYC seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor to work full time for is treatment center.

Position requires up to 2 evenings per week and rotating weekends. Office is located in Hempstead and role reports to Program Director.

The Substance Abuse Counselor 2 is responsible for providing direct treatment services to clients of the New Path Treatment Center and oversight of interns of the program, and administrative and clinical supervision as needed in the absence of the Program Director.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Conduct individual, family and group counseling sessions.


2. Provide consultation and treatment for family and related other individuals of clients.


3. Assess condition of client's progress and status during treatment sessions.
