Staff Accountant (AP-Heavy) – Contract | Redwood City, CA (Onsite)

Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant with a strong focus on Accounts Payable to support a fast-paced accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, own high-volume AP processing, and assist with broader accounting functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Full-cycle Accounts Payable processing (handling ~50 invoices per day, coding, 3-way match)

+ Manage weekly check runs, ACH/wire payments, and vendor reconciliations

+ Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies quickly

+ Maintain and update vendor records and ensure compliance with internal controls

+ Support month-end close (accruals, AP aging, GL reconciliations)

+ Assist with expense reports and credit card reconciliations

+ Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate coding and approvals
