Role Summary

  • Providing excellent customer care. Hospital visits can be stressful and daunting, so you will be a great communicator with strong customer service skills to put our patients at ease, treating them with tact and empathy
  • Coordinating and organising the attendance of patients to outpatient, day case and theatre appointments
  • Ensuring all administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. Typical tasks that you will complete are:
  • Proof reading clinical letters (please note there is no audio typing in this role)
  • Monitoring waiting times, ensuring that our patients’ treatment pathways, from referral to treatment are accurate and up to date (you can find out more on what this means here: NHS England » Referral to treatment)
  • Booking appointments from waiting lists 
  • Setting up and updating clinics/Theatre bookings 
  • Liaising with other health services
