Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations for clients/residents with communication disorders (aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia) and swallowing difficulties, often resulting from stroke, dementia, or neurological conditions.
Intervention Planning: Develop and implement person-centered therapy plans that align with the client's/resident's lifestyle and the caregiver's capacity.
Dysphagia Management: Perform bedside swallow screenings and assessments. Recommend appropriate food textures and fluid consistencies to prevent aspiration.
Caregiver Empowerment: Train family members and domestic helpers on communication strategies and safe feeding techniques.
