What You'll Do Avalara operates at global transaction scale, where system performance, reliability, and consistency directly affect customer trust and outcomes. You will help build the backend platforms that power Avalara's global registration, licensing, and compliance services. Working with product managers, architects, engineers, and operations teams, you will provide scalable, reliable solutions that improve automation, operational efficiency, and customer experience. You will oversee medium-to-large technical initiatives, contribute to architecture decisions, and help raise engineering standards across the team.
