Duties Description This Senior Laboratory Equipment Designer (SLED) position in the Bureau of Air Quality Surveillance's (BAQS) Southern Monitoring Section is an integral part of a team that maintains the New York State air monitoring network. The SLED is a supervisory position that schedules and oversees the work of lower-level staff with responsibilities for the design, operation, maintenance, and repair of air quality monitoring equipment as well as the review and verification of air quality monitoring data, and evaluation of QA/QC procedures and system operational parameters. Other tasks include the oversight and management of air monitoring stations including siting, construction and electrical communication connection through hands-on and supervision of lower-level staff.
