The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients, residents, and clients in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. When assigned charge responsibilities, the Registered Nurse provides clinical leadership to Health Care Aides (HCAs), Unit Clerks, Licensed Practice Nurses (LPNs), and other Registered Nurses. The Registered Nurse fulfills professional accountabilities by practicing in alignment with the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics, the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) Practice Expectations, the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) Practice Expectations and scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Care Professions Act (RHPA) and applicable regulations, as well as relevant provincial and federal legislation.
