The post holder will work as part of the Buckinghamshire School Nursing Immunisation Service and manage a team of skill mix staff within Buckinghamshire. The aim of the service is to ensure delivery of the National Childhood Immunisation Programme to children between the ages of 4 – 19 years, and also the delivery of SCID BCG programme for Neonates.
The post holder will ensure that all children, young people and families in Buckinghamshire are offered age-appropriate immunisations in a safe and supportive environment together with evidenced based information on the benefits of immunisation.
Although the post holder will not be required to hold the SCPHN qualification, the successful applicant will need to be a registered nurse and will also need to have evidence of or be prepared to undertake the necessary leadership training to take on a leadership role within the Immunisation Team.
