Description
The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnosticand therapeutic respiratory services to patients as prescribed by physicians,and as regulated by the Massachusetts Board of Registration, standards ofpractice of the American Association of Respiratory Care, and within the scopeof department and hospital policies and procedures. The therapist appliesscientific principles and a professional and collaborative approach tooptimizing the patients health and function. He/she assesses the patientscondition, participates in the formulation of the respiratory care plan, treatsand teaches the patient, and maintains appropriate records.
