JOB DUTIES: The Emergency Department provides medical screening examinations, ongoing assessment, and initial treatment/or advice to patients with illnesses or injuries who present to the department for treatment. Emergency care is offered 24 hours a day, with an experienced physician on duty and specialty consultants from the medical staff available promptly.
The Registered Professional Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other staff and departments in maintaining standards of nursing care; follows established policies, procedures, or specific instructions. This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
