Summary The Veteran Directed Care (VDC) program is a Home and Community-Based Care (H&CBC) service designed for Veterans who would otherwise qualify for nursing home care but require significant support to safely remain in their home or community setting. Through VDC, Veterans are allocated an individualized budget to direct their own services. The Registered Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring clinical appropriateness, program integrity, and quality oversight.
