Position Summary
Responsible for the provision of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and psychotherapeutic interventions in ambulatory care settings.
Job Responsibilities
Makes assessments of mental health needs in an adult population.
Performs medical histories and physical examinations; diagnoses mental health/psychiatric conditions.
Develops and executes treatment plans.
Writes prescription and orders; triages and evaluates urgent patient issues.
Provides psychotherapeutic interventions as needed.
Provides continuity of care through patient/family education and follow-up care. Identifies, documents and evaluates patient/family teaching needs. Develops/distributes educational materials. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
