SEND Teaching Assistants – Bury School

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with physical needs, including moving and handling, hoisting, and mobility assistance.
• Delivering 1:1 and small group support following personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.
• Using communication tools such as PECs, Makaton, and visual timetables (experience desirable but not essential).
• Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment.
• Monitoring, recording, and reporting on pupils’ progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.
• Supporting pupils in sensory rooms, therapy sessions, and outdoor learning.
