The High Energy Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory invites applications for a postdoctoral appointment focused on the design and simulation of advanced detectors for future high-energy physics (HEP) and nuclear physics (NP) experiments. The successful candidate will be a key member of a multidisciplinary co-design team integrating materials science, computing, and device engineering to address next-generation HEP and NP detector challenges. The postdoctoral appointee will collaborate closely with leading scientists across multiple divisions at Argonne.
Key Responsibilities
+ Elicit and define requirements and performance specifications for future HEP/NP detector systems
+ Perform detector concept development, system-level design, and optimization leveraging emerging computing architectures and novel device technologies
+ Develop, validate, and maintain simulation and modeling frameworks for detector performance, characterization, and benchmarking
