**Job Title: Pipe Layer**

**Job Description**

The Pipe Layer installs and assembles large-diameter underground piping systems for water, sewer, and storm drain projects. This role works closely with equipment operators to place pipe accurately, uses lasers and transits to ensure proper alignment and grade, and performs backfilling and finishing work to meet project specifications and safety standards.

**Responsibilities**

+ Start engines and operate machine controls, including throttles, switches, levers, and pedals, to support pipe installation activities.
+ Locate underground utilities and services, such as existing pipes and wires, before beginning excavation or installation work.
+ Assist equipment operators in the safe and accurate placement of pipe in trenches and other underground locations.
+ Direct equipment operators using clear and precise hand signals to ensure correct pipe positioning and safe machine operation.
