Job Summary
As part of the Special Education team, the incumbent provides practitioner level service to students who have physical disabilities or movement challenges that impact their ability to succeed in the school environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a continuum of service and support to students and personnel under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
- Evaluate services to assist the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team with identifying the presence of performance deficits resulting from a disability and determine if there is an educational need for physical therapy services.
- Conducts comprehensive assessments of students' gross motor skills, gait, balance, and functional mobility within the school environment.
