POSITION SUMMARY
Performs nursing duties in the care of adult and pediatric patients in medical/surgical, pediatric, obstetrical, and emergency room settings in the hospital and in medical evacuation situations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and socio-cultural needs of the acute care patient and his/her family in collaboration with the RN staff. Observes the patient's clinical condition; recognizes serious situations and with the RN staff, identifies, interprets, and initiates appropriate nursing interventions. Screens patients, documenting chief complaint, vital signs, and pertinent information on appropriate medical record forms.
