GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Perform a variety of diagnostic test to the eyes to provide information to the ophthalmologist for diagnosis and treatment. Assist the ophthalmologist with diagnostic and treatment oriented procedures and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform patient intake to include ocular history, medical history, medications and allergies. (20%)Perform a variety of routine tests using ophthalmic instruments that provide diagnostic information including, but not limited to, intraocular pressures, basic motility, visual fields, PAM and BAT tests, A-scan USN, fundus photography, pupillary assessment and measurement. (20%)Assist the physician during diagnostic and minor surgical procedures (in office), including instrumentation, sterile preparations and documentation.
