Responsibilities
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP):
Provides advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentation Performs inpatient hospital rounding as per provided schedule Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic treatments and non-pharmacologic modalities Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's disease-specific needs Monitors the effectiveness of interventions prescribed Facilitates the patient's transition within and between healthcare settings Provides education to patients, families, and significant others Acts as an information resource to students, healthcare professionals, patients, and the public Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals Qualifications:
