Role Overview Provide frontline inpatient medical care under specialist supervision, managing a general ward caseload while contributing to team-based clinical operations and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care - Assess, diagnose, and manage inpatient cases across general medicine wards
- Perform daily ward rounds and monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans accordingly
- Order and interpret investigations including laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
- Initiate and review medications, ensuring appropriate and safe prescribing practices
- Respond to acute deteriorations and emergency situations on the ward
Procedures & Documentation - Perform basic clinical procedures (e.g. venepuncture, IV cannulation, ABG, ECG interpretation)
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including case notes, discharge summaries, and referral letters
