Job Title: Mechanical Insulator

Job Description

As an Insulator, you will be involved in significant projects, including mechanical and wall insulation inside ships. This role is crucial in supporting various shipbuilding projects, such as the Joint Support Ships and the Polar Icebreaker.

Responsibilities

• Apply, remove, and repair thermal and acoustical insulation on industrial equipment such as duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
• Select the appropriate type and amount of insulation and determine the method of securing insulation based on the equipment's surface type, temperature, location, and intended use.
• Measure and cut insulating materials and coverings to the required shape and dimensions.
• Fit insulation around obstructions and shape insulation materials and protective coverings.
