This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER (HAZMAT), Position Description Number D1908000 and is part of the NE USPFO Supply Branch, National Guard. INDEFINITE EMPLOYMENT IS TEMPORARY IN NATURE AND WILL LAST MORE THAN ONE YEAR BUT NO MORE THAN SIX YEARS. BENEFITS ARE THE SAME AS A PERMANENT APPOINTMENT. MAY CONVERT TO PERMANENT WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION. Responsibilities As a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER (HAZMAT), WG-6912-7, duties include: (1) Identifies, receives, sorts, counts, classifies and handles hazardous materials in the USPFO storage areas. Performs pre-receipt examination of property on site at the generation point and assures that the turn-in and shipping is in order, that the containers meet standards are placarded and marked properly.
