What the role is The successful candidate will be part of a small, dedicated team responsible for developing and giving effect to the Food Safety and Security Act. Working closely with colleagues across Divisions in the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and other relevant ministries and agencies, the officer will contribute to the full policy-to-legislation pipeline — from analysis and position development through to the drafting of legal text.
What you will be working on - Formulate and review policies governing food businesses (e.g. farms, retail and non-retail food businesses), using a science-based risk management approach. This includes reviewing existing legislation and guidelines for continued relevance and effectiveness, benchmarking against international standards and overseas regulatory frameworks, drafting policy submissions and preparing drafting instructions for legislative provisions.
