Job Description: The Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer is responsible for the installation, upgrade, maintenance, and optimization of the z/OS operating system and associated ISV products. This role ensures system stability, performance, security, and high availability while supporting critical business workloads. Responsibilities: z/OS Upgrades and Maintenance:
Plan, prepare, and execute z/OS operating system upgrades, including pre-installation checks, customization, testing, and post-upgrade validation. Apply IBM PTFs and APARs using SMP/E to maintain system integrity and resolve issues. Perform regular IPLs and system restarts as required. Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization using RMF, SMF, Omegamon, and related tools.
