POSITION SUMMARY
The general, the focus of the Center Mental Health Consultant is on the early identification and diagnosis of mental health problems; basic mental health care; and mental health promotion, prevention, and education designed to develop staff knowledge and help students overcome barriers to employability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

o Provides staff development on using mental health principles and techniques, including coping with problems of alcohol and drug use.

o Provides clinical assistance to students and the AOD counselor, especially with students who may have co-morbid psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.

o Reviews program applicant folders and assists with the reasonable accommodation process.
