NOTE: This position will have 11am and 3pm start times.Reporting to the Senior Technologist and under the director of the Supervisor or Manager, this position is responsible for performing a variety of duties in Hematology. Performs, records and reports diagnostic procedures in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures to ensure a high quality, accurate and timely result. Identifies unusual or abnormal findings and alerts Senior Technologist/Hematopathologist. Performs and documents quality control and assurance programs. Operates, maintains, and performs troubleshooting on a variety of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal function. Assists with maintaining department supply inventory and re-orders as required. May participate in the validation and assessment of procedures and equipment under the direction of the senior technologist, supervisor or manager.
