Intensive Specialist Medicine (1.25 FTE, 12 months fixed term)

We are seeking an intensivist with an interest in the care of deteriorating patients outside intensive care. This role combines work as a specialist intensivist within a busy tertiary intensive care unit and specialist engagement with the Patient at Risk team at Auckland City Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide tertiary level intensive care knowledge and skills to patients within the intensive care unit and to patients on the wards as required.
• Participate in a rotating senior medical staff roster.
• Supervise and provide teaching to junior medical staff and nursing staff.
• Participate in intensive care unit activities related to quality, data, and audit.
• Develop and provide leadership in one area of intensive care to enhance patient outcomes.
