MacEwan University is hiring a full-time Counsellor I to provide comprehensive support through Wellness and Psychological Services. This role integrates Indigenous approaches to enhance student mental health.
The selected candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team focusing on patient care, counseling, and developing inclusive programming with kihêw waciston. Drawing on Indigenous lived experiences, you will work to create culturally safe environments for students while addressing their unique mental health needs. Your role will include individual and group therapy sessions as well as involvement in departmental initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver in-person and virtual psychotherapy and case management
• Conduct basic health assessments and develop treatment plans
• Offer Indigenous wellness strategies aligned with ethical practices
• Guide at-risk students in navigating support resources
• Participate in department meetings and case consultations
