Food Technology Teacher

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire

Start: September 2026

Contract: Permanent (directly employed by the school)

Salary: £34,398 – £52,490 (MPS/UPS – Fringe Pay Scale)

Responsibilities

• Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4.
• Deliver curriculum aligned to national standards.
• Support and mentor student learning and progression.
• Participate in department meetings and CPD activities.

Qualifications

• UK QTS or in the process of obtaining it.
• 1:1 mentor support for ECTs and bespoke induction for new teachers.
• Strong academic background (degree, A Levels, GCSEs).
• Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards to a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' level.
• Willingness to listen to feedback.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
