The NYCDOT seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the Traffic Management Center unit within the Traffic Operations divisions. The unit is 24/7 operations including holidays and weekends. The selected candidate will be assigned to a specific shift, under general supervision of the TMC shift supervisor will perform highly technical engineering work including monitoring and troubleshooting problems related to the maintenance of 13,900 traffic signals, working with maintenance contractors via radio communication to troubleshoot traffic signal failures to restore proper operations that are critical to ensure proper flow of traffic and the safety of the public.
