Job Overview
The Wire EDM Lead Operator is responsible for set‑up, programming, operation, and optimization of wire EDM machines while leading and supporting operators to ensure parts are produced safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role serves as the technical expert for wire EDM processes, driving quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the department. Pay Rate: $22.00 – 29.70/hour DOE.
A Day In The Life
Lead daily wire EDM operations, including job prioritization, scheduling, and workload coordination
Set up, program, and operate Makino wire EDM machines Develop and optimize wire EDM programs using CAM software and/or machine controlsTroubleshoot machining issues related to cutting accuracy, wire breakage, surface finish, and cycle timePerform first‑article inspections and verify conformance to prints and specifications
