Role Responsibilities

The Director provides leadership to a team of financial professionals and partners with senior stakeholders across government to support decision‑making, drive transformation initiatives (including 1GX), and enhance financial accountability across the Ministry. Operating within a complex, high‑accountability environment, this role requires sound judgment, diplomacy, and the ability to manage competing priorities. The Director engages regularly with senior executives, central agencies, and external auditors on sensitive financial matters.

Strategic Financial Leadership

• Lead the preparation and review of consolidated ministry financial statements and management reporting
• Provide expert advice on financial policy, controls, and reporting compliance
• Ensure alignment with Treasury Board and Finance directives and public sector accounting standard requirements
