What You'll Do
As a Database Officer, you'll play a key role in enhancing the quality, accessibility and scientific value of the State Botanical Collection. Working with herbarium specimens, you'll apply your attention to detail and research skills to verify and update taxonomic information, interpret specimen data, and accurately capture records within the collection database. You'll draw on a range of resources, including scientific literature, maps and historical references, to resolve incomplete or complex information and support the ongoing curation of one of Australia's most significant botanical collections. Beyond data management, you'll contribute to the continuous improvement of collection management practices, systems and procedures, ensuring work aligns with industry standards and organisational requirements.
