GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to serve as a behavioral health resource, responding to individuals experiencing a low acuity mental health emergency/crisis by providing resources and support to those in need. 

This position serves as a co-responder alongside Lexington Fire Department (LFD) personnel, providing immediate behavioral health support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. This position will conduct on-scene assessments, identify mental health needs, evaluate safety risks, and assist in determining appropriate next steps for care or support.
