The successful applicant will join a dynamic Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery Service comprised of three clinicians (two ACVIM-LAIM and one ACVS-LA board certified), four residents (two ACVIM-LAIM and two ACVS-LA), and two service Veterinary technicians. The Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery group is a subset of the larger Farm Animal Alliance group comprised of 12 faculty members (4 ACVIM-LAIM, 3 ACT, 1 ACVS-LA, 1 ACVCP, and 4 general practitioners) offering ambulatory services and hospital care to livestock and companion farm animals in the large Knoxville area. While the successful applicant will still share some clinical emergency responsibilities with other members of the Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery Service to provide support after hours, they will have the benefit of the 3 faculty on the Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care Service (1 ACVS and 1 ACVECC board certified) providing the majority of emergency coverage.
