Unit Summary

The Women’s & Newborn Health Program at McMaster University Medical Centre and McMaster Children’s Hospital provides specialized obstetrical, gynecological and newborn care in a tertiary setting serving a broad geographic region within southern Ontario. This includes high volume ambulatory women’s health services with a number of outpatient clinics spanning the full spectrum of obstetrics, gynecology, and maternal fetal medicine; inpatient care supporting over 4,000 births annually and the largest NICU of its kind in Canada, caring for over 1,500 critically ill newborns per year. A Neonatal Transport Team supports regional care in collaboration with provincial partners.
