General Summary Administers anesthetic agents to patients according to established standards and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: - Reviews and assesses patient condition and develops anesthesia management plan in collaboration with the Anesthesiologist.
- Administers anesthetic agents. Calculates doses and monitors parameters.
- Maintains patient documentation.
- Responds to code/trauma to establish and maintain patient airways via intubation. Documents treatment rendered.
- Transports patients from surgery area to post-anesthesia recovery area. Reports patient status to physician and nurse care giver.
- Provides airway management training to residents, students and other staff.
- IF ASSIGNED TO GETTYSBURG HOSPITAL: May be required to rotate work between the hospital and an ambulatory setting.
