Job Description
- A butcher is responsible for preparing and cutting meat for sale in retail or wholesale settings, ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Formal training or apprenticeship in butchery is often preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in butchery or meat preparation is beneficial, though on-the-job training may be provided for entry-level positions.
- Knowledge of Meat Cuts: In-depth knowledge of different types of meat (beef, pork, poultry, etc.) and the proper techniques for cutting, trimming, and preparing them.
- Manual Dexterity and Physical Strength: Ability to use knives and other tools precisely, along with the physical stamina to handle heavy meat cuts and stand for long periods.
