General Statement of Job

Under general supervision, assists bus drivers by helping students board and depart bus safely. Enforces seatbelt use rules and ensures that wheelchairs are locked in place. Maintains student discipline. Reports to the Transportation Supervisor or Assistant.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Assists bus drivers by helping students board/depart bus safely and helps with route assistance and emergency preparation.
Enforces all bus rules and regulations, including those pertaining to the use of seatbelts, safety, seat assignments, student behavior and noise. Checks to make sure wheelchairs are locked in place.
Helps students cross the street as needed.
Drives bus as requested or as necessary.
May attend meetings of students with Individual Evaluation Plans (IEPs.)
Maintain medical records of students.
Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of assigned bus.<...
