POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will supervise the Alternate Center for Education (ACE) and Time Out rooms to assist students as they process after an incident which necessitates their use of either the ACE or Time Out Room and to accurately document each such use Will also assist in managing inappropriate behavior in the educational setting. Acts as a role model for students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responds to and encourages student’s appropriate verbal and non-verbal interactions with adults and students.

2. Conveys a positive attitude in interactions with students.

3. Uses appropriate intervention methods when student behavior is inappropriate.

4. Makes self available to all students by physical proximity as well as by visual contact.

5. Actively moves around ACE to facilitate students’ learning.

6. Uses positive language for redirection.
