**POSITION SUMMARY**

The Experimental Division is seeking a Scientist with expertise in shock physics. A successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of dynamic compression experiments with experience designing and conducting experiments using gas gun or laser drivers.

**RESPONSIBLITIES** :

+ Design, build, and trouble-shoot experimental platforms to measure the equation of state, structural changes, and deformation and fracture of materials.
+ Support the operation and improvement of existing and newly acquired equipment and instrumentation for laser physics experiments.
+ Work in an environment with a visible and audible laser operating at both single shot and constant 10 Hz rep rates.
