To support the agency’s mission, DOT seeks to hire an Assistant Commissioner to address the aging infrastructure of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE) between Atlantic Avenue and Sands Street, reporting directly to the Deputy Commissioner of Bridges/Chief Bridge Officer. This section of the BQE, part of the interstate highway system, is a critical corridor for freight within the City and the Borough and carries 130,000 vehicles daily. NYC DOT seeks to hire an experienced structural engineer that has overseen major projects, valued over $500M.
