Summary The incumbent serves as a full assistant to the Service Chief, sharing the complete range of delegated managerial responsibilities. In the absence of the Service Chief, the Supervisory RRT assumes the role of Acting Service Chief. The Assistant Chief supports departmental functions under the direction of the Service Chief, and exercises significant authority in decision-making affecting staff and resources, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy and independent judgment. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Aids in the development and regular review of policies and procedures; ensures that this program remains in compliance with existing VA policy and regulations and TJC standards.
