Asphalt Plant Operator

Location: Hampton, VA

Operates asphalt plant to batch, crush and/or segregate materials used in construction.

Assist with assembling, adjusting, maintaining, repairing and disassembling plant equipment as needed.

Moves controls to heat, dry, mix ingredients to produce asphalt paving materials.

Control weighing, feeding, crushing and sifting machinery.

Observes gauges, dials and operation of machinery to ensure conformance with specifications.

Basic knowledge regarding the use of computers in plant operation.

May repair and/or make adjustments to the machinery.

Uses various hand tools.

Basic mechanical skills to assist with plant maintenance.

Oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.

Yard maintenance.

Travel to and from the different plants.

Monitors the activity within the site.
