About the Commission

The Commission was established by the Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Act 2019 and the Climate Change Response Act 2002. It develops and implements climate change policies in New Zealand, provides expert advice to Government, monitors progress towards emissions goals, and has delivered several key assessments and reviews.
