Advanced Clinical Practitioner – Cardiac and Thoracic

Responsibilities

• Lead ACP‑led ward rounds and thoracic ward attender clinics with support from consultants and registrar team.
• Provide independent clinical management of patients undergoing lung cancer surgery and chest trauma care.
• Deliver advanced assessment, diagnostic decision‑making, leadership and educational support within the four pillars of Advanced Practice: expert clinical practice, leadership & management, research and education & development.
• Work 12‑hour shifts from 07:30 to 20:30, seven days a week, and 7.5‑hour shifts for clinic coverage.
• Participate in audit, quality improvement initiatives, service development and research projects.
• Practice within agreed care protocols, monitored by the Designated Medical Lead / Lead ACP.
