Public Sector People are working with a Council in Sydney who are looking for an Accounts Officer to join them on a contract basis.

The council are looking for someone who has accounts receivable experience within local government. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing customer enquiries relating to rates, accounts receivable, payments, receipts, and revenue services
  • Processing invoices, refunds, credit notes, direct debits, and receipting transactions
  • Assisting with debtor monitoring and debt collection activities
  • Processing Notices of Sale and investigating Returned Rate Notices
  • Maintaining accurate records and data within Council systems
  • Supporting the issuance of statutory certificates, including Section 603 Certificates
  • Managing incoming and outgoing revenue-related correspondence
  • Investigating and resolving unallocated payments and account discrepancies
