Our industrial distribution division is searching for a Warehouse Associate to join our team at our commercial facility for full-time employment from March 2021 onward. We require a long-term dedicated, trustworthy, and hardworking individual with a positive attitude and good work ethics who does not mind working an entire shift on his or her feet. The suitable candidate should be able to pay careful attention on the job, be proficient in both spoken and written English and be able to understand and follow instructions precisely, particularly when processing, shipping, and receiving orders; maintain a safe and clean environment at all times, work well under pressure, and double-check his or her work before completing a task. Our company offers a competitive salary and we also have an extensive in-house training program including forklift training for the suitable applicant.
Responsibilities include the following:
-Working from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and occasional overtime when required.
-Ability to be punctual, courteous, respectful, and display a positive attitude to customers, staff, and superiors and take their job and the working environment seriously.
-Be willing to learn and take leadership where necessary.
-Be able and willing to work both with co-workers and superiors and independently.
-Be proficient in both written and spoken English and be able to understand, comprehend, and follow instructions precisely, especially terminologies pertaining to shipping and logistics.
-Pick merchandise from the warehouse and transport it to the shipping bay.
-Receive merchandise into stock and verify its contents.
-Load and offload merchandise to and from transport, courier, and customer vehicles.
-Be willing to use warehouse equipment and be willing to learn and be trained and certified if required.
-Label and pack products as specified by customer orders.
-Be able to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
-Count and stock merchandise based on inventory control system.
-Be willing to learn and retain warehouse, shipping, receiving, courier, and company procedures
-Evaluate incoming products for conformance to purchase orders and quality standards.
-Identify damaged, lost or missing merchandise and notify supervisor immediately.
-Treat merchandise with care and concern at all times.
-Train and support new employees as they are on-boarded.
-Review all containers to determine appropriate contents as well as end destination.
-Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment at all times.
-Take responsibility for his or her work and take the job seriously.
Please Note: This is a full-time position which includes an extensive training program and therefore would require a long-term commitment (minimum one to two years) from the ideal candidate. This position also requires constant attention to instructions and details, and the ability to be attentive at all times, therefore we ask that personal mobile phone use be limited during working hours. Furthermore, there is no access to social media from company computers or electronic devices. There will be a three month probation period following which there will be an assessment of the candidate. If the candidate successfully passes his or her probationary period and assessment, further increments or benefits can be discussed.
Skills Required but not limited to:
-High school diploma
-Ability to work with all individuals regardless of age, gender, cultural, or religious background.
-Forklift experience a plus but not essential
-Previous warehouse or shipping experience preferred but not essential
-Ability to work on feet and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
