Vice President, Business Development Conveniently located in Toronto, we are a successful and growing investment counselling firm which manages discretionary investment portfolios on behalf of families, foundations and corporations. As a Portfolio Manager and Investment Fund Manager, we manage a range of focused, publicly traded and alternative investment portfolios on both a separate account and pooled fund basis using a value-oriented investing style. Overview of Role As Vice President, Business Development, you will be an important member of our management team. You will build and lead our firms business development efforts in advisory channels, wholesaling our proprietary investment funds to financial advisors, family offices and institutions, using your own well- established network, targeted prospecting and focused marketing initiatives. You have an energetic, sales-oriented personality, enjoy working with people and building relationships. With an excellent working knowledge of traditional and alternative investment strategies, you are able to clearly communicate with prospects and identify new business opportunities. Select Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation and execution of all aspects of our strategic sales and marketing plan for our funds to third party advisors and other investment channels. Primary responsibility for developing a business development pipeline for the firm including identifying prospective clients and centers of influence and engaging with such parties on the firms services and investment strategies with a mandate to grow the firms assets. Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of sales and marketing materials and strategic planning of marketing initiatives. Liaising with other members of the firm to assist with the firms business development objectives and other administrative functions, as required. Contribute to the firms overall leadership, strategic planning, and cultural development. Profile of Ideal Candidate – You possess a university degree and completion of relevant investment designations (CFA, CIM, CAIA). Advanced degrees in Business or Law are also considered an asset. – You have excellent written and verbal presentation skills and a willingness to do the little things, behind the scenes. – You have significant experience (10+ years) in a business development role, ideally in the fund wholesaling ecosystem with exposure to alternative strategies. Experience in private client wealth management or institutional relationship management would also be considered a significant asset. – You enjoy working in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment and are a high energy, self-motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative team player, who is willing to roll up their sleeves and grow as we continue to expand.
